Moon-sighting announcement of the month of Ramadan 1437

Assalam Alikum
There were no verified sightings of the crescent moon by the naked eye at sunset on Sunday, June 5th 2016, in any region of North America. Therefore, Monday, June 6th, 2016 will be last day of Shaba’an and Tuesday, June 7th will be the FIRST day of the Holy month of Ramadan 1437 A.H.

The moon could not be sighted on on June 5, therefore, 1st of Ramadhan will be on Tue, June 7, 2016. Monday, June 6, will be 30th of Shabaan (Yaum-ul-Shak). It is preferable to fast on this day, when it is not established as the first of the month of Ramadhan-ul-Kareem.
