Dear Parents,

اَلسَلامُ عَلَيْكُم وَرَحْمَةُ اَللهِ وَبَرَكاتُهُ‎

By the Grace of Allah (SWT) we are blessed with another year of IILM Sunday School.

To maintain the best educational and spiritual environment possible for our children, we require all parents to read and abide by the rules and regulations of Sunday School.

Parent- Student-Teacher Partnership is a relationship that is based on commitment, trust and a genuine desire to see the students excel in their Islamic education.

IILM Sunday School looks forward to working with parents to enhance and help students excel in their Islamic education.

Responsibilities of the Parents

  1. Ensure that their child attends Sunday School regularly and on time.
  2. Notify the Sunday School in case of a prolonged (two weeks or more) absence and making arrangement to make up for missed exams.
  3. Ensure that their child is appropriately dressed for Sunday school.
  4. Teach and reinforce the importance of respecting teachers and peers.
  5. Encourage and lead the child to develop proper study habits at home.
  6. Review material taught and ensure that all homework assignments are completed on time.
  7. Participate meaningfully in parent-teacher conferences to discuss their child’s progress and areas that need improvement.
  8. Discuss report cards with their child and jointly strive for improvement.

Disciplinary Action

To ensure the safety and well-being of all our teachers, staff and students, it may be necessary to impose disciplinary action on students who shun their responsibilities and infringe rules and regulations of IILM Sunday School.

All disciplinary action will be progressive and depend on the severity of infraction and may include one or more of the following actions:

  1. Verbal warning by the teacher and/or administration
  2. Phone call to the parents as well as written explanation by the student for their infraction
  3. Calling for parent/teacher conference.
  4. Lunch detention with special assignment.

Attendance and Tardiness

  • All students must be punctual as tardiness both disrupts the class and impedes the academic progress of the student.
  • Sunday School begins at 10.20 a.m. sharp with assembly
  • Any student arriving after 10.40 a.m. will not be admitted in class unless accompanied by the parent. The parent will have to sign in their child. A record of absences and tardiness will be kept and noted on the report card.

Parent – Teacher Conference

Parents are welcome to make an appointment at any time to see the teacher or Administration, when necessary, to discuss their child’s progress. If you have any concerns, please do not wait until the scheduled conference or end of the school year to contact the teacher and discuss them. Early contact will allow for corrective action that will result in maximum benefit for your child and our student.

Responsibilities of the Students

  • Girls will wear head covering with no hair showing and shirts that will extend to mid-thigh length and cover arms and wrists.
