Eid-e-Ghadeer Mubarak, Congratulations to all Believers!
“I am the City of Knowledge and Ali (a.s.) is its Gate,” Prophet Muhammad (Pbuh).
IILM Center is humbled to be able to invite you to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Eid-e-Ghadeer this Friday, August 31st at 8:15 p.m. The Ghadeer celebration program will have something for the whole family including flowers, sweets, and beautiful poetry in the unique voice of world renowned Mir Hasan Mir. It is the day of greeting and embracing other momineen with joy.
Mir Hasan Mir, an internationally famous Shia Pakistani Noha, Naat and Manqabat reciter and poet. He has been reciting poetry from a very young age.
“The day of Ghadeer-i Khum is the best feast of my community (Ummah),” Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him). Eid-e-Ghadeer is the day when Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) announced Hazrat Ali (a.s.) as his true successor and leader of the Muslim Ummah at Ghadeer Khum.
Imam Ali Raza (a.s.) said that on the day of judgement four days will be presented before Allah(swt) with such glamour as that of a bride – Day of Friday, Eid-ul-Fitr, Eid-ul-Azha and Eid-e-Ghadeer – and the day of Eid-e-Ghadeer will be the most most distinct and will be like a moon among stars.
Eid-e-Ghadeer has many recommended amal. One of the most important amal is the amal of giving. Community members reserve the day of Eid-e-Ghadeer as the day for their yearly khums and sadqa.
Best said in the poetry of Ustad Sibt-e-Jafar Mir, “Khums dena mawadat ki eik shart hai. Aur dena bhi misal-e-Fidak hai gunha. Haq-e-Sadaat-o-Zahra (a.s.) ke maqroz se. Jab tabara suna tu hansi aa gayi.” In other words, Giving Khums is one of the signs of love of Zahra (a.s.), and not giving khums is like Zahra was not given the garden of Faddak, her right.
Giving sadqa on this day is highly recommended and counts 1000 times the amount given. “If you want to pray to Allah for better means of subsistence, then first give something in charity.” -Imam Ali (a.s.), Nahjul Balagha.
