Advisory Announcement regarding Corona virus (COVID-19) – IILM Center
In the name of GOD, The Beneficent, The Merciful

Asalaam Alaykum,

At present all of our programs are still planned to be held as scheduled, such as Dua e Kumayl on Thursday evenings and Friday Prayers.

As a precaution and general courtesy, if you are not feeling well or have traveled to any effected areas recently (such as China, Taiwan, South Korea, Italy or Iran), please refrain from joining out of consideration to the other momineen.

Following are some best practices to follow and helpful communication from the CDC:

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), there currently is no vaccine to prevent Coronavirus. The best way to respond to this public health threat is to avoid exposure and take everyday preventive actions to stop the spread of the virus. The CDC issued the following guidelines to help minimize any potential health risk:

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Stay home when you are sick.
  • Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash.
  • Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces using a regular household cleaning spray or wipe.
  • Follow CDC’s recommendations for using a face mask.
  • CDC does not recommend that people who are well wear a face mask to protect themselves from respiratory diseases, including COVID-19.

Face masks should be used by people who show symptoms of COVID-19 to help prevent the spread of the disease to others. The use of face masks is also crucial for health workers and people who are taking care of someone in close settings (at home or in a health care facility).

Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom, before eating and after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing.

If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

We ask God, the Exalted, with His kindness and generosity to heal those who are infected with this virus and bless them with good health, and may His mercy be bestowed upon the deceased and patience and reward bestowed on their families and loved ones.

The Qur’an quoted Prophet Ibrahim (p) as saying, “It is He who created me and He will guide me It is He who gives me food and drink and heals me when I am sick. He will cause me to die and will bring me back to life.” [The Holy Quran 26:78–81]

Besides all these precautions and treatments, do not forget supplication to God, the Exalted, for He says, “Your Lord has said, ‘Call Me, and I will hear you!’” [The Quran 40:60]
